Qatari club tantalises Watford with a €13m bid for Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo

altSUPER Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has become the subject of a fresh bid by a Qatari club who have a tabled a bid worth €13m in a desperate bid to secure his signature ahead of the forthcoming season.

 

One of the revelations of the season, Ighalo is one of the leading scorers in the English Premier League with 14 goals so far this season. His red hot form has attracted the attention of numerous big clubs, including the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City and Watford are resigned to the fact that they will be unable to retain his services.

 

So far, Watford has not accepted any formal bid for the striker but has already lined up compatriot Isaac Success as a possible replacement. However, the Qatari club are prepared to break the bank for the striker who they are offering a four year contract in the hope of luring him to the Middle East.

 

If he accepts their offer, Ighalo is set for a bumper payday as he will earn €5m per season, meaning that he will pocket €20m by the end of his contract. Watford are said to be ready to cash-in on Ighalo in the summer as he is one of their most valuable assets.
