POPULAR Hausa singer Ado Daukaka has disappeared from public view just days after releasing a song criticising corruption and incompetence in public life prompting fears that politicians he was criticising may have got to him.
From Adamawa State, Ado is feared to have been abducted in mysterious circumstances, few hours after releasing a song against corruption and incompetence. One of his wives said some strangers came and asked after him Saturday morning after he had gone to the mosque for the early morning prayer.
She added: "We told them Daukaka left for the mosque and from then till now, nobody knows his whereabouts. We searched police stations for him to no avail.”
Already, people are associating his disappearance with his latest song entitled Gyara Kayanka, in which he said politicians elected on the platform of the ruling party were just deceiving people. In the song, he said the way and manner things are happening in the state will not augur well for anybody.
Hussaini Gambo Bello, the chairman of local pressure group Adamawa Concern Citizen, condemned the abduction of the famous singer. Already the Adamawa State Police Command is aware of the incident.
