A Texas woman is behind bars for choking her son and leaving a big scar on his forehead.
The 23-year-old mother of Houston, was arrested on charges of injuring and abandoning a child after she choked her son and slammed his head into the wall.
The 6-year-old boy told police that his mother became angry because he took chocolate milk without a permission, according to Houston Police.
Investigators said that when Ruth Vasquez Rodriguez-Martinez, a mother of four children, discovered that her son drank chocolate milk without asking permission, she banged his head into the wall and threw him into in a closet.
The 6-year-old boy told authorities that her mother locked him in the closet several times, but on this particular day, he was slammed into the wall, resulting in a 1-inch scar on his forehead. There was blood all over the carpet and he was in much pain.
The criminal complaint said that Rodriguez-Martinez refused to seek medical care for him because “she did not want Child Protective Services in her life.”
According to reports, on several occasions, the mother left her four children, ages seven, six, three and one, home alone.
A CPS worker found the children alone at home at 9:45 p.m. About twenty minutes later, she returned home and admitted to leaving her children unattended more than once.
Rodriguez-Martinez is being held in the Harris County Jail with bail set at $12,000. Her four children were placed with family members and they are doing well.
