Europe’s biggest award ceremony celebrating black and ethnic personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television and arts, Beffta is now in its seventh year. Every year, the annual awards take place at the Hippodrome in Golders Green, in north London and usually attract the who-is-who of the entertainment world.
Since it begun in 2009, Beffta attracts over 6,000 guests annually and this year's event is expected to be celebrated in a very grand prestigious style bringing together several international and UK stars under one roof. Beffta founder Pauline Young said that the awards have the common goal to celebrate and honour both unknown and known hard-working and extremely talented personalities in entertainment, film, fashion, television, arts and sports.
Ms Young added: "This year is extremely special, in the spirit of giving back to the community everybody including the nominees will receive special prizes. The general public can nominate in all the categories by sending names and details of nominees to nominations@beffta.com."
Among the highlights of this year's events will be legendary TV personality Sir Trevor McDonald and entertainment icon Lenny Henry receiving Beffta UK lifetime achievement awards. Public nominations will close on September 20 and more details can be found on www.beffta.com/news.
