FEARS over the health of Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh have grown after he complained of dizziness in Port Harcourt yesterday and had to be flown to Belgium to receive urgent medical treatment.
In July this year, Oliseh, 41 was named as the new Eagles manager and given the task of qualifying Nigeria for the 2017 African Cup of Nations and the 2018 World Cup. He was also mandated to oversee the home-based Eagles who will compete in the Championship of African Nations (Chan) tournament.
Over the last week, Oliseh has been training with the home-based Eagles who fly to Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso tomorrow for the second leg of their Chan 2016 qualifier. However, yesterday, after lunch with the team he complained of dizziness and had to be flown to Belgium.
A Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) spokesman said: “Coach Sunday Oliseh has returned to Belgium to continue treatment after being advised by Eagles medics. He became dizzy and weak after lunch on Thursday and he travels abroad tonight through the Port Harcourt Airport.”
Earlier this week, Oliseh returned from Belgium where he went to receive treatment after the Eagles beat Burkina Faso 2-0 in the first leg of their qualifier in Port Harcourt. According to the NFF, despite the Oliseh scare, the team is in high spirits with no injury worries.
