Super Eagles bounce back from recent woes by thrashing Cameroon 3-0 in Brussels

altNIGERIA'S Super Eagles have put the traumas of the last few days behind them by bouncing back in style to beat Cameroon's Indomitable Lions by three goals to nil in a friendly match in Brussels tonight.

Over the last week, the Eagles camp has been wrecked by bitter infighting after a feud between skipper Vincent Enyeama and coach Sunday Oliseh almost tore the team apart. Oliseh had dropped Enyeama as his first choice goalkeeper in favour of Wolverhampton Wanderers' Carl Ikeme and them stripped him of the armband and handed it to CSKA Moscow's Ahmed Musa.

Unhappy about the development, Enyeama walked out of the team's camp in Belgium and announced his retirement from international football. However, the fracas had soured the mood in camp sufficiently to lead to the team playing very poorly in their friendly against the Democratic Republic of Congo last Thursday when they lost 0-2.

After ringing several changes to the team, Oliseh had asked for more spirit in tonight's game against Cameroon and the team responded adequately. Celtic centreback Efe Ambrose opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a header from a corner, while Simon Moses added the second in the 60th minute, with Odion Ighalo making it three in the and 88th minute.

Stephane Mbia, the Cameroonian captain had been sent off at the beginning of the second half after picking up two yellow cards. This dampened the Cameroonian enthusiasm and blunted their attack, making the second half a relatively easy affair for the Eagles.
