In the first such ever case of its kind ever known, the couple then roasted and feasted on the man's genitals as a way of celebrating their victory over him. Amid claims that the man raped the bride a week before her wedding, the couple killed him and then dumped his body which was found in a burnt-out van in Tulangbawang district of Lampung province on Sumatra island where the trio live.
According to police, the husband, 30-year-old Rudi Efendi, has admitted murdering the man after discovering his wife was not a virgin on their wedding night in September. She told him that she had been raped and he then proceeded to redeem his honour.
Mr Efendi said: “I was so outraged and decided to eat the victim’s genitals to cure my heartache."
Police say that after murdering the man, Efendi took home the victim’s severed genitals, ordered his 20-year-old wife to cook them and the pair then ate them together. Apparently, the victim was a driver, whom the wife used to date.
A local police spokeswoman said: “The case is still under investigation but we strongly suspect that this is a premeditated murder. The husband is accused of carrying out the murder, while police believe the wife acted as an accomplice."
According to the police, Mr Efendi had ordered his wife to contact the victim and set up a meeting. However, when the victim arrived, he found only Mr Efendi, who then allegedly stabbed him to death, cut off his genitals and set the vehicle on fire.
