NIGERIAN woman Kenya Alozie has been jailed for nine years by the Woolwich Crown Court in southeast London for burning her lover's genitals with a hot iron just after having sexual intercourse with him.
According to the evidence presented by the prosecution, Ms Alozie, 31, of no fixed address, burnt her lover, a man in his 30's at an address in Plumstead, southeast London, on May 15. She used a hot iron to assault him in what police described as a calculated attack and then attacked the man with a broken bottle causing him a number of serious injuries including deep cuts and burns.
He has since undergone a number of hospital treatments and surgery. However, the matter was reported to the police and Ms Alozie was charged and this week, the Woolwich Crown Court found her guilty of grievous bodily harm with intent.
At the time of the attack, Ms Alozie’s student visa, that she obtained to study at Coventry University, was due to expire and she was due to return to her family in Nigeria. However, the police arrested her on May 24 just after she boarded a flight at Heathrow Airport and charged her with the offence the following day.
Police spokesman Detective Constable Duncan Clark, said: "Ms Alozie committed a calculated and pre-planned attack. She ensured she had a broken bottle to hand and a hot iron to strike the victim and seriously harm him and the sentence imposed clearly reflects the seriousness of this extremely violent attack."
