West Ham say Victor Moses will be out of action for six weeks with hamstring injury

altSUPER Eagles and West Ham winger Victor Moses could face six weeks out of action after the medical examination of a hamstring tear he picked up last weekend during an English Premier League game against Manchester United revealed that his injury is serious.

Last weekend, Moses hobbled off the pitch at Old Trafford in the first half clutching his hamstring after starting the game brightly and serving as the Hammers' main goalscoring threat. He has now had a medical examination of the injury and West ham manager Slaven Bilic said he fears that the winger may be out until the end of January.

Moses joins an ever-growing injury list at West Ham, with Dimitri Payet, Enner Valencia, Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini all facing spells on the sidelines. Winston Reid joined them this week too, prompting Bilic to relocate their training ground to their new Rush Green headquarters where they currently play under-21 games.

West ham were not due to move the training ground there until next season but the manager has decided to commence training there as from Monday following a rash of injuries suffered on the pitches at their current Chadwell Heath base. At least four of the players have muscle injuries, which Bilic has blamed on the training pitch.

Bilic said: “Reid got injured in training, it doesn’t look good and it’s one of those they tell you is four to six weeks but it doesn’t look like a small one. He slipped and felt it rupture.

“Victor is out for four to six weeks, which is a blow as we have had six injuries since the Everton game. Before that we had a full squad, then Payet and Valencia were injured against Everton and now we have four muscle injuries.”

Still technically a Chelsea player, Moses joined West Ham on loan at the start of the season and has been one of their brightest sparks. However, Moses is yet to feature for the Super Eagles since new manager Sunday Oliseh took over earlier this year due to a combination of injury and disagreements.
