Bongos Ikwue says he hates religion because it promotes laziness and global unrest

altMUSICAL legend Bongos Ikwue international renown for his worldwide smash hit Cock Crow at Dawn has revealed that he hates religion with a passion and will never go to church because faith promotes laziness and global unrest.

Mr Ikwue, who has several other hits including Still Searching, Maryam and a host of others, has a guiding mantra that says, the only sin is laziness and the only religion is hard work. A native of Oturkpo in Benue State, he opined that religion is the reason for universal unrest and if possible, it should be banned.

“I have never doubted he existence of God and I believe in God but I hate religion. I don’t go to church because it has become a business venture.

“Don’t go give a cheque of N300m (£1.03m) to a church and expect that God is so happy and clapping because he has not seen money. Those who will not listen to people like me will pay the price as they will remain gullible and the price is they remain in their poverty because they are not thinking or using their heads,” Mr Ikwue added.

He asked whether, money will take him to heaven or it is meant to stop on this earth. The singer, who is currently working on a new studio project called Bongos Ikwue 2016, says he will not retire until God calls him home.

"Maybe when God says it is over I will stop but I won’t retire. I work round the clock because I hate laziness,” Mr Ikwue added.
