Jigawa villager hacks his 18-year of wife to death for having the effrontery to sue him

MEN of the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested 25-year old villager Buba Juli for hacking his wife to death because she had the effrontery to sue him to court for lack of care and not fulfilling his matrimonial responsibility.

 

In a gruesome incident, Mr Juli hacked his 18–year-old wife, Hafsat Muhammad, to death during a domestic squabble at Bujaye village in Kafin-Hausa Local Government Area of Jigawa State. He apparently connived with his friend, Adamu Muhammad to carry out the cruel act.

 

Jigawa State Police Command spokesperson Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Abdul Jinjiri, who confirmed the incident, said the suspect was arrested after they received reports of the attack from the deceased's relatives. He said after the court fixed January 19 as the date for mentioning the case, Mr Juli and Adamu Muhammad decided to approach the wife for an out-of-court settlement but they instead murdered her.

 

DSP Jinjiri added: “When they approached the wife at her parent’s house, she turned down their request. As a result of that, they decided to descend on her by using cutlass and knife to machete her, which included chopping off her hand.

 

“In this process, her relatives heard her shouting for help but before they could come to her rescue, the suspects had already perpetuated their evil plan and ran away. After receiving the report, police arrived at the scene and took the young lady to Kafin-Hausa General Hospital where she died later."

 

Already, the police have succeeded in arresting the husband of the deceased but his friend, Adamu is still at large. It is expected that they will both be charged with murder.
