RAGS-to-riches bread seller-turned-model Olajumoke Orisaguna's husband has expressed confidence in the humility of his wife pointing out that he does not harbour any fears she will leave him now she is global icon.
Up until last hear, Jumoke was a bread hawker ay Sabo market in Lagos but took photographs in her spare time. Eventually, one of her pictures attracted the attention of several glossy magazines and she got on the front cover of a few, sparking off what has now become a lucrative modelling career.
Seen as one of the rising stars of the Nigerian fashion industry, Jumoke, who originally trained as a hair dresser in her native Osun State, is expected to go on and rub shoulders with the greats of the sector. He husband Sunday Orisaguna, said, however, that he is not bothered about the fame going to her head.
Mr Orisaguna said: "I am very happy and I never expected it and I didn’t know things will turn around for us this soon. I cannot express how I feel today as I didn’t know we can get to where we are today.
"I am not afraid because when we had nothing, she was always there and if I said I needed this, she would give me. If she is rich today, we both own it and I trust her for that a she has been a very good wife and I believe she will continue to be good.”
An Osun State-based artisan he expressed confidence that his wife would remain the girl she met many years ago despite the sudden fame that has come her way. They currently have two daughters.
