Delta State police arrest 70-year old man and two others for raping sick 15-year old

POLICE in Delta State have arrested three men including 70-year old Paul Ogwe for allegedly raping a sick 15 year old girl in the rural community of Alisimie near Agbor last week.

 

In a particularly gruesome crime, Mr Ogwe and his accomplices Ability Ogwu, 65 and Kenneth Okoro, 58, had forceful carnal knowledge of the girl. Their crime became public knowledge when a relation of the victim known as Patricia Oroyelu, caught the trio having taking advantage of the minor, exploiting her health condition.

 

Police are keeping the identity of the victim private to protect her identity but she is said to be having certain health challenges. Her mother, who said the suspects had carried out the act on several occasions, lodged a complaint with the Delta State Police Command, which led to the trail and eventual arrest of the three of them.

 

Delta State Police Command spokesperson Celestina Kalu, confirmed the incident, adding that based on the report, they swung into action and arrested the suspects. They have subsequently been detained and are awaiting transfer to court for prosecution.
