Nigeria's second most capped player ever, Yobo, retired from international football after the last World Cup and will be honoured with a testimonial game at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. Mr Moyes, who brought Yobo to England when he made him his first signing at Everton after the 2001 World Cup, has decided to come and honour the player too.
Yobo said: "My former manager David Moyes has said he'll come. I was his first signing and I'm honoured he has agreed."
Mr Moyes has even agreed to pay his flight fare to honour the game in Nigeria. Yobo who captained Nigeria when the Eagles won the 2013 African Cup of Nations, made his senior international debut against Zambia in a 2002 World Cup qualifier on 24 March 2001.
African super stars like Samuel Eto'o and Yaya Toure are also expected at the event tagged The Joseph Yobo Centenary Game being put together by the Joseph Yobo Foundation in partnership with the Rivers State government. Former Super-Eagles stars that will be on show on the day include Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Ifeanyi Udeze, Pete Rufai, Christian Chukwu and Austin Eguaveon.
