UK investors to hold Business Council for Africa summit on April 20 in drive for investors

altBRITISH investors plan to step up their attempts to woo entrepreneurs to the continent with an ambitious Business Council for Africa (BCA) annual summit taking place in London on the 20th of this month.

Designed to attract potential investors and friends of Africa, the summit, tagged the BCA Annual Debate 2016, will bring together business and opinion leaders to explore opportunities for promoting and building new and better business in Africa. BCA supports over 400 companies across Africa and organisers believe that the current global economic climate provides new opportunities.

Sir Paul Collier, Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, who will be speaking at the conference, said: “Business opportunities are driven by innovation and catch-up.

"In the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), innovation matters most and the prospects are poor. In Africa catch-up matters most and the prospects are good.”

Organisers say that amid fluctuating markets and political upheaval, they are excited to see more and more evidence of the growing potential represented in increasing resilience and sustainability. They believe there are signs of great strides forward in technological innovation and an expanding and dynamic local private sector in Africa.

Among other things, the BCA Annual Debate 2016 gathers business and thought leaders to explore opportunities for promoting and building new and better business in Africa. Packed with expert knowledge and insights, the #BCADebate is all about conversations, connections and collaborations.
