England's Tottenham Hotspurs keeps tabs on Super Eagles trio of Ndidi, Simon and Madu

altENGLISH Premiership side Tottenham Hotspurs have stepped up enquiries about three Nigerian footballers with the hope of signing the trio ahead of the beginning of the forthcoming 2016/17 season.

According to the club, its scouts are tracking Kingsley Madu, Moses Simon and Wilfred Ndidi ahead of next season. Tottenham scouts watched Moses and Ndidi in action during Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Luxembourg on Tuesday night when they came on as second half substitutes at the Josy Barthel Stadium.

Leftback Madu did not play in the match but the 21-year old who plies his trade with Slovakia’s AS TrencĂn is highly rated.  Ndidi, 19, currently plays for KRC Gent in the Belgian Pro League and has a contract until 2020, while Simon who boasts of six international caps for Nigeria remains a player of KAA Gent until 2019.

Over the last week, several scouts have looked at several of the Super Eagles players who have been camped in Europe while playing friendly matches. On May 27, the team beat Mali 1-0 in France and on Tuesday followed this up with a win against Luxemburg.
