altNIGERIA'S sporting tragedies took a turn for the worse this morning when another former Super Eagles coach Amodu Shaibu passed away at the age of 58 just three days after one of his successors Stephen Keshi died from a heart attack.

Dating back to1994, Amodu coached the team on four separate occasions taking the Eagles to several African Cup of Nations' tournaments and qualifying them for the 2002 World Cup. Up until his death, he was the Nigerian Football Federation's technical adviser, who job entailed overseeing the activities of the Eagles' head coach.

Amodu, who died in his sleep during the early hours of today, was reported to have complained of chest pains late on Friday after dropping off fellow coach Godwin Izilien in Benin City. Family sources said a check on Amodu at 4am this morning discovered his lifeless body in his bedroom.
