Aba mob beats pastor to a pulp after he is suspected of being head of car snatching gang

IRATE residents in the Abia State commercial city of Aba have beaten a self-professed pastor to a pulp after he was suspected of being the head of an armed robbery gang that specialised in car snatching.

 

Although the police are yet to name the pastor, he is said to be linked to a car robbery syndicate in the Amaekpu-Ohafia area of Abia State. He was apparently caught stealing a car in the area when the mob descended on him and beat him up mercilessly.

 

One eyewitness said: ‘This pastor is behind all the missing cars in Ohafia. He has been captured through the vigilante group in Amaekpu-Ohafia."

 

Items like several vehicle license plates and car keys were said to have been found in his possession. Although the police are yet to comment on the incident, the self-acclaimed pastor reportedly confessed to the crime.
