Cross River husband places a curse of millipedes on his estranged wife over N1.8m dowry

CROSS River State husband Mr Asuquo has invoked a curse involving millipedes on his wife Esther in anger about the N1.8m (£4,300) dowry he paid for her after they broke up following a disagreement.

 

Earlier this month, Mrs Esther Asuquo, 32 and her husband were involved in a bitter dispute, leading her packing out and fleeing to another native doctor for help. In anger, Mr Asuquo invoked a protectorate of millipedes to attack her residence in Ekpene Ikot Effio Anang in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the state.

 

According to Esther, following several prophecies about the invocation by oracles of the Most High, the church was interceding on her behalf. She disclosed that she temporarily relocated to an unrevealed location based on the revelations that she should do so for a period of one month.

 

However, the people of Ekpene Ikot Effio Enang have practically made up their minds to banish the alienated husband, a non-indigene, who hired a native doctor from another land to invoke the charm, while the militant group, which he first took the matter to, was livid with him. He reportedly had issues with the wife, who ran for her dear life but instead of amicably settling the cause of the disagreement, the man reported her to a militant group, demanding a sum of N1.8m he spent on her dowry and erected a structure.

 

However, the militant groups ruled against him and not satisfied, Mr Asuquo contracted a native doctor to arm-twist her by invoking millipedes. Several sources confided that Esther is now staying with a native doctor, who has been invoking incantations to lift the curse which her husband placed on her.
