DETECTIVES from the Kwara State Police Command are investigating the apparent suicide of 20-year old senior secondary school (SSS) student Moji Agboola who took poison to end her life after failing her promotion examination.
Ms Agboola, who was an SSS One student in Omu-Aran in Kwara State, died at Adeyemo Hospital in the town due to complications in her body system as a result of the poison. She had been rushed to the hospital by her mother, Abigail, about three weeks ago after taking ill after consuming the lethal substances.
Abigail said it was one of her other daughters, who first gave a clue to Abigail's sickness before she later confessed to the act at the hospital. She added that the deceased was initially taken to Christ Apostolic Church, Ori-Oke Irapada, along Omu-Aran-Ilofa Road for prayers and deliverance.
At the church, the prophet in-charge Christopher Owolabi, said a prayer team was quickly organised for the deceased before she was taken to the private hospital for treatment. It was at the hospital that she was confirmed dead.
