FORMER Super Eagles winger Osaze Odemwingie has revived his footballing career by signing a temporary contract with English Championship side Rotherham United that will last until January next year.
Once of West Bromwich Albion, Cardiff City and Stoke City, Osaze has been out of contract since the start of the current season. Osaze, 35, has become Rotherham manager Kenny Jackett's, first signing since taking over the Championship’s bottom club on October, when he replaced Alan Stubbs.
Osaze has also played for Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow, French club Lille and was sent out on loan to Bristol City last season. League One side Bolton Wanderers revealed he was training with them last Friday.
However, an injury to Bolton midfielder, Tom Thorpe could force the club to seek to sign a midfielder instead of a forward. Osaze last played a competitive match on April 19.
"Thanks to Bolton for their interest in me but I’m really pleased to join Rotherham. Kenny showed some interest in me a few months ago and we have been in touch since then and I am pleased he got a job and he offered me a contract.
“Playing well in the Premier League is still helping me now. Class is permanent, form is temporary, so I just need to find my form as all the movements are still there,” Osaze said.
