Nigerians take to social media to mock TB Joshua for predicting Hillary Clinton victory

NIGERIANS have taken to social media to ridicule Synagogue Church of All Nations (Scoan) founder Pastor TB Joshua after his prediction and prophesy that Hillary Clinton would win the US presidential election turned out to be horribly wrong.

In the run-up to the election, Pastor Joshua had prophesised a narrow win for Mrs Clinton last Sunday but early this morning Donald Trump won the polls with 276 electoral college votes against 218 for his rival. Following the victory, Nigerians trooped to social media to mock Pastor Joshua for the failure of his prophesy to come to pass.

Pastor Joshua had said: "The election will be close and I see a winner, a woman. Maybe Trump was born a woman, we never can tell.

“The new president will be facing several challenges over many issues, including passing bills, attempts to possibly pass a vote of no confidence. The boat of the new president will be rocked and by the way, in order not to keep you in suspense, what I frankly saw is a woman.”

Early this morning, Pastor Joshua deleted the prophesy posted on the church’s official Facebook account. In its place, he posted a seven-line prayer on the church’s page urging his members to join him in prayer.

His wrong prophecy notwithstanding, Pastor Joshua’s followers besieged the church’s Facebook page today, praising him for his powerful and amazing prayers. Less than two hours after his call for prayers on Facebook, the post garnered nearly 4,000 comments.

This is not the first time Pastor Joshua has come under public scrutiny over his acclaimed prophetic powers. When, in 2014, a refurbished six-storey building inside his church premises collapsed killing 116 people, mostly South Africans, many questioned the preacher’s inability to foresee an incident of such magnitude.
